 APRIL – POSSIBLE MOODLE COURSE: SUPERCHARGING YOUR STORYTIMES 

We’re offering again a 5-week opportunity to learn, apply, and review the strategies identified from the VIEWS2 research, building on Every Child Ready to Read. We know many of you had a full fall schedule, so could not register for the course that ran in October and November – here’s another opportunity.  A minimum of 3 hours per week of reading, online discussion, and application to your work setting would be required for a total of 15 CE hours.  Participation in a 1 hour Moodle training webinar will be required to enter the class.

LATE OCTOBER START – POSSIBLE MOODLE COURSE: EARLY LITERACY FUNDAMENTALS

This 4 week course is aimed at ALL library staff who interact with young children and their families (you do not have to do programming). You will become familiar with the early literacy skills (phonological awareness, print awareness, letter knowledge, vocabulary, and background knowledge) and the early literacy practices (talking, singing, reading, writing and playing). Building on their knowledge, you’ll explore ways to apply them to your work, including ways to make library environments supportive of staff sharing early literacy information and activities with parents and caregivers. A minimum of 3 hours per week of reading, online discussion, and application to your work setting will be required for a total for 12 CE hours.  Participation in a 1 hour Moodle training webinar will be required to enter the class.
